"You should find a wheelchair and
start handicapping your home."

Those are words you never want to hear from your doctor, yet that's what Melissa heard as a young mom with 3 boys and was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease of Multiple Sclerosis. Luckily Melissa listened to that faint little voice, urging her on to seek other answers.

And thanks to her finding a functional medicine practitioner, she has been SYMPTOM FREE for years.

Autoimmune Disease Can Be Reversed

With Functional Medicine, we look at the body differently.

Are there body functions not working optimally, such as digestion? If digestion is in the least bit compromised (if you experience abdominal pain, digestive issues, gassiness, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, etc.)., then you are not going to be absorbing the nutrients you consume.

Once we start getting behind on the body getting the proper nutrients, things can really start to get out of balance. Over time, this can easily lead to symptoms.

What do we do when we get symptoms? We usually turn to over-the-counter remedies to make our tummy stop hurting or our headache go away. However, that's just covering up the symptom . . . the reason it is happening is still there!

And time and time again, when the body is reaching out and telling us it needs our help, and we continue to silence it, it's not long before the body gets louder trying to get our attention.

Maybe the dry lips of dehydration (masked by lip balm) turns into a headache (masked by Tylenol) that turns into fatigue (masked by coffee), that over time can actually lead to disease because many other body parts depend on regular hydration as well!

We look at symptoms with a functional medicine lens to see what is not working optimally, to make shifts (drink more water, take supplements to help with digestion, etc.) so the body can begin to absorb those nutrients and can now start focusing on turning things around.

Together, we can figure out what is causing your body to not work as optimally as it should, and it's not as hard as you might think. Autoimmune symptoms and disease CAN be reversed!
